Hi, I'm Doug.
My path to mental wellness wasn't straightforward. Starting in finance and sales at Florida State University, I thought I had it all figured out, but something was missing. While guiding whitewater rafting trips on the Colorado River, I found what I truly needed: connection, presence, and purpose. Nature helped me gain clarity and realize that true healing comes from stepping away from routines and reconnecting with ourselves.
As I pursued my master’s in clinical mental health counseling at Jacksonville University, I created Healing Hobbies as a space where wellness is about more than just addressing problems—it’s about seeing the whole person. By blending nature, movement, and proven methods, I help people navigate challenges like stress, burnout, and finding direction. Grounded in my faith and personal experiences, I guide individuals toward discovering peace, clarity, and strength, focusing on unlocking their potential and fostering real, lasting growth.
